The Microphones - Song Islands

Broadcast-The Future Crayon [UK]

One of my favorites :)

Jim O'Rourke- Halfway To A Threeway

Nate actually gave this album to me too haha. I've seen Sonic Youth three times and I was lucky enough to see Jim O'Rourke play with them one of those times. I always thought he just did noise stuff, but when Nate told me this is Jim O'Rourke, I flipped. This little EP is really fresh from the rest of his collection of songs. It changed my whole view on his discography.

Good music:

Grouper- Tried 7"

Nathan showed me Grouper and she is still one of my most favored artists he's showed me. This is her latest release which shows a brighter and (maybe) a more structered side to her. I'm really interested in what she's coming out with. Thanks Nate.

Rocketship- A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness

I love this album. Dustin Reske makes some of the coolest and simplified pop songs. A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness came out in 1995, but it sounds like it could've come out last year and still be easily categorized as a pop band, but I think there's more to them. This album gets alot of comparisons to early Stereolab or a poppier My Bloody Valentine, which are awesome comparisons, but one thing I (sometimes) don't like about this album is how fucking loud that organ can get. Nevertheless, give it shot!
